Fire clay brick is made from clinker clay by mixing, forming, drying, sintering and matching characterized by good resistance to corrosion and abrasion, good thermal shock resistance, good spelling resistance, high mechanical strength, good volume stability under high temperature.



Alumina content in fireclay bricks approximate 28-45% are classified to Low Duty Fireclay Bricks, Medium Duty Fireclay Bricks, High Duty Fireclay Bricks and Super Duty Fireclay Bricks, the detailed information are as below.

Low Duty Fire Clay Bricks

Content: 60%-70%  SiO2, 23%-33% Al2O3, 6%-10% Other Content

Working Temperature: 1500 °C – 1590 °C.

Application: mainly used for fireplace, chimneys, and also used as back up bricks


Medium Duty Fireclay Bricks

Content: 60%-70%  SiO2, 26%-36% Al2O3, 5%-9% Other Content

Working Temperature: 1630 °C – 1690 °C.

Application: mainly used as backup linings, and also for lower-temperature ceramic kilns and chimneys


High Duty Fireclay Bricks

Content: 55%-60% SiO2, 35%-40% Al2O3, 5%-9% Other Content

Working Temperature: 1690 °C – 1740 °C.

Application: Widely used for boilers, ceramic kilns, chimneys and back-up linings
